Post: NSW director charged with dishonestly causing a financial disadvantage to his company

Mark Stevens of Kurraba Point, NSW, today appeared at the Downing Center Local Court charged with dishonestly causing a financial disadvantage by deception contrary to section 192E(1)(b) of the Crimes Act 1900 (NSW).

Following an ASIC investigation, it is alleged that between 3 June 2016 and 10 June 2016, Mr Stevens dishonestly caused $110,000 payable to his company MWCLMS Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) to be redirected to Australasian Justice Services Pty Ltd (In Liquidation).

It is alleged that at that time Mr Stevens caused these monies to be redirected, he was aware MWCLMS Pty Ltd was in financial difficulty having appointed administrators to the company on or about 18 May 2016. MWCLMS Pty Ltd subsequently went into liquidation on 17 June 2016.

The matter has been adjourned to 24 September 2024 for further mention.

This matter is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
